How much does Firmit cost?
Firmit is free forever - payment requests, quotes, invoices and deposit flows are all included, with no monthly fee. The only cost is a small platform fee of 1% (capped at £5) per payment, which your customer covers at checkout.
Firmit Pro (£10.99/month) adds read receipts, automatic reminders and your own branding on everything - for businesses that are serious about getting paid.
Why does the customer pay a fee?
It's a small platform fee added at checkout - the same kind of thing customers already pay when they book a taxi, order a takeaway or buy a ticket online. Most don't think twice about it.
That fee is what keeps Firmit running and lets us offer the core product for free - without ever holding onto your money or charging you to get paid.
And if you'd rather your customer didn't pay it, you can choose to absorb the fee yourself. It's entirely up to you.
How quickly do I receive the money?
Payments are processed by Stripe and typically arrive in your account within 1-2 business days.
What if a customer doesn't pay straight away?
Firmit sends a polite automatic reminder so you don't have to ask. If they still haven't paid, the job stays open in your dashboard and you can follow up with one tap.
I already use a card reader. Do I still need Firmit?
A card reader only works when the customer is physically with you and you happen to have it on you. Firmit works from anywhere - send a link by text after the job, or let the customer pay from their sofa later that evening. Most people find it replaces the card reader entirely.
Is Firmit secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment infrastructure providers. Firmit never stores your customers' card details.
